FAQ
Why did you create BPW?
Quite simply to fill a need. There are wonderful products such as the Marshall Memo which summarizes a broad base of articles for all parts of the education sector, or The Main Idea which summarizes one education-related book per month, but there is no one breaking down articles specifically on instruction for teachers. We believe deeply that all students deserve the opportunity for an excellent education, and having teachers who are steeped in the best practice research is an important step in that direction.
How are you able to offer this for free?
BPW is currently supported by private philanthropy and ad revenue, and we’re hoping to secure enough foundation and individual funding in the future to ramp up the variety and number of services we offer. We’d rather acquire outside funding and be able to offer BPW for free than charge even a small fee to hard-working teachers. If you work for a foundation, or just want to make a donation, and are interested in making that future a reality, please email ehaspel@edsuccess.org.
Do you give out our emails?
No, never! Your personal information is your own and we will never share it with a third party.
What’s the long-term vision for BPW?
Eventually, we would love to have the capacity to offer a variety of editions: a K-2, 3-5, Middle School English/Language Arts, Middle School Math/Science, and a variety of subject-specific High School editions. There are also endless possibilities for enhancing the quality of the content, both in terms of production value and in terms of linked resources, such as bringing in the article authors for webinars or hosting discussion boards.
How can I help?
Number one, spread the word. BPW is a totally free service and we want as many people as possible to benefit from it. Email five of your teacher friends, and ask them to email five of their teacher friends, and… well, you know how that goes.
Number two, as we mentioned above, if you do have financial capacity and want to help BPW grow, please email ehaspel@edsuccess.org. BPW is a service of the Education Success Network, which is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, so all donations are tax-deductible.
